In this four-week class, students will explore drawing what they see. One of the hardest skills for any artist is drawing what they see, not what they think they see! In each class, students will utilize different art styles, such as gesture drawing, still life drawing, and contour drawing, to develop their ability to draw accurately from life!
Thursdays, 4:30 - 6 pm. Feb 20, 27, Mar 6, 20, 27, Apr (6 weeks).

Every week during this painting course, we’ll be guiding students to try different styles of painting to open up some knowledge about art history, as well as try new painting techniques. Whether your child has never painted before, or they enjoy painting often in their own time, this course is a great choice for some after school fun.

In this class, students will learn the necessary skills to draw portraits of the people around them! Throughout the four weeks, students will learn to draw the individual components of a face and how to combine them together to create a full portrait. They will experiment with drawing themselves, a moving figure, and a still portrait.

Hello fellow time traveller! Join us at the Button Factory Arts Centre as we venture through time and space to explore all the different forms art has taken in the past. Each day we will look at a different moment in time, starting with cave painting to the present day. We'll analyze the way art has evolved over time along with those who created it. Every day we'll create different artworks inspired by that period or the artist that lived through it!
Monday: Prehistoric
Tuesday: Classical
Wednesday: Middle Ages
Thursday: Modern
Friday: Contemporary
Early Drop off: 8:30; Pick up 4:30 - 5:15.
PD Day: Monday, Mar 31, 9 - 4:30 pm.
