A hands-on introductory experience to basic block making utilizing soft carve blocks, simple carving tools, and printing techniques. Participants will engage in an immersive exploration of traditional block printing practices, complemented by a visual presentation highlighting traditional techniques from India.

Samples will be provided to showcase the potential and limitations of block printing, offering insights into the range of possibilities. Additionally, modern tools and simplified techniques will be introduced, allowing participants to carve their own tile block or design. This practical session will be followed by printing on a tote bag using textile ink or other color mediums, enabling participants to experiment with creating repeat patterns and further understanding the intricacies of the craft.
